Here’s a pretty cool logo. Take a look at Aberdeen, New Jersey through clear and clean “vector eyes” (bottom version). Bitmap effects were used to recreate the clouds in the “N” “O” and “S”, and to recreate the sunset sky in the “N” in order to replicate the effect closer (everything else is in full vector). Those section can also be done in vector, however the “fuzzy” look of the original would not be maintained due to the limitations of the vector format.
